8. Skip Breakfast
Skipping breakfast is an absolutely terrible idea when it comes to diet, weight-loss, and general health. As the first meal of the day after a (hopefully) 7-8 hour fast, a healthy breakfast gives the body the energy and nutrients it needs to start the day and increase focus and concentration throughout the day. When breakfast is skipped, hunger sets in well before lunch and causes cravings and unhealthy snacking in all but the most iron-willed dieter. In addition to unhealthy snacking, the increased levels of hunger can cause binge eating during lunch and dinner, which means that the effort to decrease caloric intake by skipping breakfast is negated by increased caloric intake during other meals.
